Day 01: GUWAHATI AIRPORT- KAZIRANGA (Approx 4Hrs/192kms)

On arrival, pick up from the airport and rive to Kaziranga which is well known for its one horn rhinoceros. Visit Kamakhya Temple: The Kamakhya temple is dedicated to the tantric goddesses. Evening check in at hotel in Kaziranga for overnight stay and well earned rest.


DAY 02: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK (Approx 2-3 Hrs)

Wake up to an early morning elephant safari to route 1. See the famous one horned Rhinos upfront and personal, Deers and Tigers if lucky.Return for breakfast.After lunch, embark on a jeep safari into the jungle from route 2. Enjoy the rest of the evening with a couple of drinks by the bonfire. Overnight stay.


DAY 03: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK – SHILLONG (Approx 5Hrs/255kms)

After breakfast, start for a journey to Shillong known as the ‘Scotland of the East.’ Enroute, visit Umiam Lake– Explore the vast Umiam Lake via boat, and witness its beautiful sunset and landscapes.Evening move to hotel for rest and overnight stay.


DAY 04: SHILLONG-MAWPHLANG-CHERRAPUNJEE (Approx 2Hrs/55Kms)

After breakfast proceed to Mawphlang Village for a visit to the Sacred Grove. A local and very knowledgeable guide will be assigned for you who will show you inside the forest and tell you about the various plant species and medicinal remedies.

Mawphlang Sacred Grove - The sacred-groves which have been preserved since time immemorial, are in sharp contrast to their surrounding grasslands. These groves are generally rimmed by a dense growth of Castanopsis kurzii trees.

Enroute:

Elephant Falls: Descend along the two successive waterfall, with its beauty and captivating formation no less to each other.

Mawkdok Dympep Valley View - A beautiful bridge known to the locals as the Duwan Singh Syiem Bridge, the entrance to the Sohra tourist circuit. From here the landscape abruptly changes into picturesque deep gorges.

Option for the Adventure Seekers: An option for a trek at the Historical David’s Scott Pony Trail Path which is a 12 km easy to moderate level trek from Mawphlang to Lad Mawphlang.David Scott Trail is an old trekking route that is counted amongst the most famous ones in Meghalaya. It is named after a British officer David Scott, who discovered and established it as a mule track to travel from Assam to Bangladesh. This one- day route extends up to 16 kilometres and takes just four hours to trek. Throughout the trail, trekkers are greeted by breathtaking vistas of mountainous streams, gurgling waterfalls, sprawling meadows, forest groves and traditional Khasi villages.Evening arrive at Cherrapunjee for Overnight stay.


DAY 05: CHERRAPUJNEE SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast enjoy the Sights of the “Wettest Place on Earth” Cherrapunjee.One of those ultimate eco-friendly destinations, a place renowned all over the world for its highest rainfall, Cherrapunj set against the backdrop of breath-taking landscape, it is a place to discover the Indian summer monsoons.

Dain-Thlen Falls- The waterfall derives its name from a Thlen or a snake of gigantic size which dwelt in a cave. Legend has it that the people destroyed the snake in order to rid themselves of its reign of terror.

Noh-Kalikai Falls - A hauntingly beautiful waterfall, cascading down from the top of the gorge to the mystic deep green pool below, reminding one of the tragic legend associated with it, of a grief stricken mother who plunged to her death, unable to overcome her sorrow over the murder of her daughter by her husband.

Mawsmai Cave - It is by far the most accessible cave for many travellers as it is one of the few caves one can ex- plore without a guide.Thangkharang Park – The panoramic view of the plains of Bangladesh from the park is the best gift for any visitor on a clear day.

Noh-Sngithiang Falls - The waterfalls are situated in a south westerly position and get illuminated by the sun from dawn to sunset. The vibrant colours of the setting sun on the waterfalls make it enchantingly beautiful.

Ka Khoh Ramhah - Also known as Motrop, is an imposing single rock formation in the shape of a giant cone. According to folklore,this was the fossilized cone shaped basket of an evil giant.Overnight Stay at Cherrapunjee.


DAY 06: SOHRA-DAWKI-MAWLYNNONG-SHILLONG (Approx 2Hrs/54kms)

Mawlynnong – Take a walk in the park in the ‘Cleanest village in Asia’ also known as ‘God’s own garden’.

Riwai Village- Witness the bio-engineering feats of nature and man, a testimony of man living in harmony with nature which stood the test of time.

Dawki– Experience the enchanting green Umngot River with boating facilities, shop at the indigenous market and feel the excitement of visitors from both side at the international border, Bangladesh.Evening return to Shillong for overnight stay.


DAY 07: DEPARTURE

After breakfast time for packing and check out for onward Journey.
